U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Decreases Critical Habitat for Peninsular Bighorn Sheep by 55 Percent
On April 14, 2009, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) issued a revised final rule of critical habitat designation (CHD) for the peninsular bighorn sheep. The final rule becomes effective on May 14, 2009 and is the result of litigation challenging the original CHD, public comments and new data obtained after the earlier rule.
