  • Federal Lawsuit Seeks to Push Interior to Delist Brown Pelican

The Endangered Species Recovery Council (ESRC) has filed a lawsuit against the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) in federal court in the District of Columbia for failure to meet statutory deadlines for acting on a petition to delist the brown pelican. The ESRC is a non-profit task force of scientists and managers involved in the restoration of habitat and ecosystems for endangered, threatened and sensitive species. (Endangered Species Recovery Council v. Salazar (D. D.C.).)
