  • A Look at Select Water Bond Legislative Proposals

Despite recent rains, California still faces a water crisis. Governor Schwarzenegger’s emergency declaration in late February only confirmed what many already knew—California’s water system is broken. On the bright side, solutions to the state’s ongoing water problems appear to once again be a priority. As a result, five versions of comprehensive water bond legislation have been introduced for the 2009-2010 legislative session. Each version seeks to provide much needed funding to repair California’s aging water infrastructure and to ensure the state’s ability to supply water for its citizens, farms, and the environment.
