  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Addresses Habitat Issues for the San Bernardino Kangaroo Rat and California Condor

    San Bernardino Kangaroo Rat On October 17, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) issued a final rule for the designation of final revised critical habitat for the San Bernardino kangaroo rat. The rule becomes effective on November 17 and will designate 7,779 acres of habitat in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. This final revised designation decreases the 2002 critical habitat designation by approximately 25,516 acres.
