Ten Rural California Water Systems Ordered to Monitor for E. Coli
In November 2008, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sent monitoring orders to ten small rural California water systems requiring them to monitor for escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria or face federal penalties of up to $32,500 per day for each violation.
