Maryland Proposes New Poultry Operations Discharge Permit and Regulations
In what it described as the “first-ever” discharge permit and regulations for poultry operations, the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) in September published a draft general permit, which the agency said would regulate more than half of the state’s poultry litter and affect more than 200 operations.
