Colorado Supreme Court Committee Proposes Substantial Changes to Water Court Rules
The Colorado Supreme Court is considering changes to the rules governing the state’s water court process. In 2007, the Supreme Court established a water court committee charged with finding ways to make the process more efficient. The committee proposed significant changes that would establish procedural guidelines for applications before the water referee and expand the referee’s authority. In litigated cases before the water judge, requirements for expert disclosures would be increased.
