State Department of Water Resources Plans Drought Water Bank to Facilitate 2009 Water Transfers
In response to statewide drought conditions, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) will implement a drought water bank in order to facilitate water transfers in 2009. Through the water bank, the Department will act as an intermediary between water agencies in Southern California looking to supplement their water supplies and water agencies north of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta) willing to transfer water supplies.
