Municipal and Public Water Supply Agency Deference in Perfecting Water Rights—Utah Legislature Mulls Its Options
The Utah State Engineer has requested the Utah Legislature’s Natural Resources Interim Committee to look at weakening the municipal and public water supply agency deference policy in perfecting water rights. In response, the committee, along with a loosely knit coalition of interested municipalities, public water supply agencies, and the development community, is instead, considering three different approaches to strengthening the protection for public water suppliers.
