  • Legislative Wrap Up—Utah Legislative Session Addressed Many Water Issues

The Utah Legislature considered numerous water related bills during its six and one-half week 2007 General Session. The water community actively assisted in the drafting of many of these bills, and those developed with this broad consensus approach sailed through both chambers. Other bills were promoted by special interests and had much narrower support. As is often the case with non-consensus bills, these faced floor amendments, hostile debates and ultimate defeat; although not entirely based on the merit of the proposed bill.
