  • Sacramento Superior Court Overturns Fish and Game Commission’s Denial to List California Tiger Salamander under California ESA

Center for Biological Diversity v. California Fish and Game Commission,

On December 14, 2006, Judge Lloyd Connelly of the Superior Court for Sacramento County ruled in favor of the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) and issued a writ of mandate requiring the California Fish and Game Commission (Fish and Game Commission) to set aside its denial of the CBD’s petition to list the California tiger salamander (CTS) as endangered under the California Endangered Species Act (CESA). The court ordered the Fish and Game Commission to reconsider the petition.
