74th Nevada Legislative Session Commenced—All Eyes on Water Resources
On February 5, 2007, the 74th Session of the Nevada Legislature commenced. Even before the Session began, it was clear that issues revolving around water resources would be a focal point of the legislators. Three weeks prior to the legislative session beginning, there were at 26 bill draft requests (BDR) involving water and water-related issues. The most significant of the numerous bill draft requests came about as a result of the Legislative Commission’s Committee to Study the Use, Management and Allocation of Water Resources (Water Committee), which was created by Senate Concurrent Resolution 26 (SCR 26), passed in the 2005 Legislative Session. See File No. 100, Statutes of Nevada 2005.
