Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board Extends Conditional Waiver Program for Runoff from Irrigated Lands
On November 28, 2005, The California Regional Water Quality Control Board for the Central Valley Region (Regional Board) voted to extend its Conditional Waiver of Waste Discharge Requirements for Discharges from Irrigated Lands (Ag Waiver)(Regional Board Resolution No. R5-2003-0105) for the period of six months. The action leaves the Regional Board with an additional six months to resolve difficulties with the “Ag Waiver” program, which has been hotly contested by both the agricultural and environmental communities.
