California: Water Supply and the Land Use Connection
In the last ten years, California has taken signifi-cant steps towards a more coordinated approach to connecting water supply analysis to land use decisions. These steps have come in the form of legislation, regulations, court decisions and voluntary actions. The result has been the beginning of a movement that seeks to address water supply and land use issues through coordinated growth management, not solely through acquisition of additional water supplies.
