California Department of Water Resources Awards $25 Million in Grants for Water Desalination Projects
On May 25, 2005, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) announced $25 million in grants to fund 25 desalination projects on behalf of various local agencies, water districts, academic and research institutions. The grants will support construction, pilot and demonstration projects, research and development, and feasibility studies to develop new water supplies using water desalination technologies.
