California Court Rules to Protect Cleanup Judgment Debtor from Having to Assume Responsibilities of Others Who Attempt to Settle Out

In an unpublished opinion, a California Court of Appeal has found that parties to a stipulated cleanup order with the State cannot settle out and leave just one, nonsettling responsible party liable for all remaining work with no recourse to the settling parties.
