Arnold Takes on the Environment: Governor Schwarzenegger Makes Four New Appointments to Important Environmental Positions
Even before he took office, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger began taking actions that would change the environment. On November 12, 2003, then Governor-elect Schwarzenegger announced appointments to the three highest positions in the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal-EPA). Terry Tamminen was appointed as Secretary, James Branham as Undersecretary and Maureen Gorsen as Deputy Secretary for Law Enforcement and Counsel. More recently, the Governor also named Mike Chrisman as the new Secretary of Resources.
