California Coastal Commission Does Not Have Jurisdiction to Consider Impacts Outside the Coastal Zone
Sierra Club v. California Coastal Commission,
On April 11, 2003, the First District Court of Appeal found that the California Coastal Commission correctly denied an appeal brought by the Sierra Club in which the Sierra Club claimed that the Coastal Commission should consider the environmental impacts of the development outside the coastal zone when approving a project that straddles the coastal zone boundary.
