Environmental Groups Challenge Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board's Decision to Issue a Waiver for Agricultural Return Flows

In January 2003, several environmental groups filed a lawsuit in Sacramento Superior Court challenging the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board's (CVRWQCB) failure to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (Pub. Resources Code, S 21000 et seq.) (CEQA) in the approval of a waiver of waste discharge requirements (WDRs) for agricultural return flows. The lawsuit was filed in Sacramento Superior Court by Deltakeeper, California Public Interest Research Group, Inc., Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc., and California Sportfishing Protection Alliance.
