  • Colorado Drought Triggers Policy Responses

Headlines in every Colorado paper and on news stories each night reflect severe drought conditions this summer. As of June 2, the state snowpack was "zeroed out" so that federal snowpack stations were recording only traces or nothing. In an average year, the state snowpack lasts until middle or late July. Colorado's snowpack cannot be replaced by summer's intermittent storms.
